My husband went to church this morning with the kids for the first time in a very, very long time. I thought nothing of it until a few minutes ago when I saw two little pots with 2-inch tall half-dead geraniums on the counter. Since he'd been talking about buying starts for the garden I didn't even think that they were from Sacrament Meeting, but even so I had a flashback to Mother's Day meetings and handing out little flower pots to the moms. They must have been scrambling to get enough flowers for all the Mormon moms in this area - these are so sad looking. I really dislike geraniums - the smell gets to me. I'm glad my husband told my kids they were for them. :D

The last time I was at church on Mother's Day the talks were all about Joseph Smith. My husband said that they talked about mothers today so there's that at least.

Why is it always geraniums? They really need to think outside the box once in a while! Chinese fighting fish?

I had a wonderful day. Two of my three kids came to the house for brunch - my oldest son home for Mothers Day for the first time in four years, as he just got out of the Marine Corps a few months ago. DH made shrimp cocktail, Eggs Benedict, fresh fruit, and Mimosas! It was great!

How's this?

From my Facebook feed: "It was really weird today at church when they gave each of the mothers a taquito." They were apparently warm and everything. This is from the Morridor, BTW.

My wife & I read a few chapters to each other.

She only went to Sacrament and then came home = ~60% less indoctrination.

She said it was a good day and it was a good day for me too.

Yesterday was almost normal, which seemed weird.

That is outside the box and absolutely hilarious!

ETA . . .six hours later I'm still giggling about this. A taquito. . .
