I find great interest in the "Romney spawned interest in mormonism"
This one I like -->

Quote:
"According to a Gallup poll, one in five Americans would not vote for a Mormon for president, and it is not just Democrats, but Christians who are a key component of the Republican base."
And . . .
Quote:
"Evangelical Christians in the US have had a long competition with Mormons for converts. Philip Roberts, who served as the head of the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for over a decade, says many evangelicals now fear that the election of a Mormon president would give the Mormon faith additional legitimacy around the globe, aiding the missionary efforts of an 'un-Christian' faith."
Evangelicals in this election are between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, they loudly decry the antics of Obama, on the other hand, they have been very outspoken against mormonism.
Considering public perspective,
Quote:
"One in five voters said they would not vote for Kennedy because they were afraid he would take orders from the Pope - the same percentage who now say they would not vote for a Mormon for president."
As much as I am convinced the current administration is spending our nation into disaster (their financial budget proudly heralded by Obama), I am convinced they need to be ousted. But the thought of putting in Romney, of all people, is incredibly difficult for me to go along with.
I believe these last two elections prove the Republicans are stupid. If they can't manage to get better candidates for president other than McCain/Palin and Romney/?, then they deserve to lose.
With all the reluctance I'm capable of mustering, I will vote for a Republican candidate in the fall not because I like Romney but because I absolutely deplore the current, so called leader.
