For as little as ONE DOLLAR, God will keep you safe from all harm.

Quote:
"I flew forward and my glasses were smashed into the back of the seat in front of me,” said Eliana Siegal, 16, of West Rogers Park. “People were panicking and babies were crying – a woman across the aisle from me was screaming that her leg was broken.”

Siegal, who was riding on the top tier of the double-decker bus, said she and other passengers rushed off the bus as quickly as they could out of fear it might explode. But the driver and at least one other passenger were trapped, she said.

“There was a lot of manpower spent trying to get the people who were trapped out of the bus,” Siegal said.

Siegal was taken to a community center in Litchfield. She said she was traveling alone, on her way to meet friends for a concert in St. Louis. Siegal said she believed she was uninjured because her father gave her a dollar to give to charity, a Jewish tradition that helped protect her en route.

"I believe it was that money that kept me out without a scratch," said Siegal
.

Apparently, the dental student who died was too poor to pay the dollar. In other news, this explains why they're building that mall. If God's only charging a dollar a head, but they're collecting 10%, then they've gotta do something with all that extra money.

(I feel a little dirty posting this, because, hey, she was just in a bus crash, she's only 16 and no doubt indoctrinated. But what the heck is the reporter doing putting this shite into the middle of a hard news story? How is this relevant news? Or even good color detail? Sheesh.)

Magic underwear costs $15 and may last longer than 15 trips. Magical thinking protection never came so cheap (okay, maybe amulets or a rabbits foot is cheaper).

Coincidence seems to be the lowest common denominator in our search to attach meaning to the confusing random events that occur in our lives.

"I survived a horrific bus crash. I was carrying a dollar for charity. QED."

No indication that she even gave the $1 to charity, but I'm sure a few people in white shirts and suits will help out there.
