How many hours did this guy waste writing the latest followup to the above article? Seriously, there are hours and hours of work writing and researching why he thinks he has the right to tell people to divorce their unbelieving spouses.

I have thought about this. If he has the right to tell the spouses to divorce a husband or wife who no longer believes in the church, we should have the right to encourage Mormon women, and Greg West's wife in particular, to divorce emotionally abusive, overbearing and chauvenistic penisholder TBM husbands for the sake of maintaining their mental well-being.

As an aside, this guy reminds of Lincoln's FIL. Somehow these guys think that they have some special calling from God that allows them to judge other people and meddle in their business. Some of the most frightening people on the planet are those who believe that God has a direct pipeline to them. Dan Lafferty is one who comes to mind almost immediately.

Wow, that was fantastic. I really like how he bans everyone from commenting directly on his site, and then writes 500-word responses to every comment he reads on FLAK. It's the sign of someone who is very self-confident.

I also really enjoyed the extreme passive aggressiveness of this comment. I practice a little passive aggressiveness myself, and this guy shows real promise.

Like I said, we all make choices that will determine whether we go to the celestial, terrestrial, or telestial kingdoms. It looks like she has made her choice. Some people will choose money and fame over the gospel. Some will choose sensuality and carnality. Some will desire position, prestige, and worldly power. Others will be drawn the accolades of academic honors. Some will seek the assurance of the things they can see over those that must be hoped for. The celestial kingdom will not be attained without sacrifice of the desire for all of those earthly things. I can only hope you both will be happy with her choice in eternity.

Some people will choose their family, which I notice he didn't mention, but is obviously what he's getting at. It might not be the "best" choice, as opposed to throwing away your family for the promise of unlimited access to heaven's penthouse.

I didn't read the 6,000-word followup. But I did word-count it. He should do NaNoWriMo, he already has a great start. He could probably write 44,000 more words in under a week. Maybe he could cut and paste large chunks of Isaiah.

I let Mr. West comment without interference on my blog, and in fact he's free to continue commenting if he chooses. I wonder if he would extend the same courtesy to me?

I would find out, but then I really don't feel like engaging him. He's out for a fight, and I'm not going to give it to him.
