Don't you ever wonder what the inflamed mean when they rant "take our country back"? It is a very bizarre rallying cry. It sounds like nationalism subsumed by ethnocentricity and wrapped in delusions of grandeur ("America is number 1 ... if you are white america"). I dunno, whatever the fuck they are talking about its clear that they think they can ignore people that don't look or think like they do. There just doesn't seem to be any sense of wanting or needing to get along with people not like them. It seems to me that they are afraid of not being the white majority anymore. I predict that their death rattles are just going to get worse as white America increasingly becomes the minority; and the amount of collective lung butter that they cough up will choke the entire nation for some time to come.

More teabagger racism

“Well, I don’t call him “rabbit ears,” I call him a monkey,”

“To set the record straight I did use the word monkey and Obama in the same sentence. Yes I did say I voted for the white guy. Unless there has been a takeover of America and free speech is no longer allowed and I can be put to death for making a remark, I refuse to take the fifth.”

It's called the nativist movement and it is older than the Republic. A good example is the film "Gangs of New York", set in the 1850's and early 1860's. In the election of 1856 a political movement called the "Know-Nothings" fielded a former President (wait for it........Millard Fillmore!) who got about half of the number of votes as the winner James Buchanan and actually carried one state (Maryland).

An off-shoot of nativism is Southern Nationalism. This combined state's rights (originally a New England concept) with racism and revanchism over the Civil War. Seems to me that it's still going pretty strong.

Then there groups like the militia and border security movements. Not all of them are racists or extremists, but a lot of them do a pretty good job of looking and sounding that way. And who can leave out Donald Trump and the birthers?

These types also flip-flop between two roles, that of persecutor and victim. It's a strange combination.

If "one of the greatest threats to American values and liberties today comes from foreign laws and foreign legal doctrines ... infiltrating our court system at the municipal, state and federal levels", as claimed by the Islampohphobes, why aren't the grownups doing something about it? Could it be that the sane people don’t see the threat?

Will the lunatics pushing their asinine fear mongering represent a growing voice on the national stage? I don't think so; I think these crack pots are sufficiently marginalized. But how fucking depressing would it be to live in an area where enough of the electorate thought it was a good idea to allow this assbag to enter the Senate?

Tea Party Senate Candidate Ted Cruz Fear-Mongers: ‘Sharia Law Is An Enormous Problem’

What’s often lost on the people who annoyingly regurgitate the anti-Islam talk points is the remarkable success story that is the American Muslim. Unlike much of Western Europe, we don’t have Muslim ghettos, violent separatist movements, and frequent rioting. Instead we have a Muslim population that largely embraces modernity, are better educated, and see a higher income than non-Muslim Americans. According to a 2007 Pew poll, American Muslims seem to be doing just fine in terms of assimilation: just 5% of Muslim-Americans express any level of support for Al Qaeda, and a strong majority condemns suicide attacks for any reason (80%+) and has a generally positive image of America.

On July 17th a press conference is scheduled to be held in Arizona. Literally, piles and piles of evidence will be presented exposing the Fraud of the ObamaNation "presidency!"

Incidentally, Bachmann doesn't have credible evidence to bolster her strange theories, but that's apparently beside the point -- McCarthyism isn't about proof; it's about irrational fear and sowing seeds of distrust.

LOL. The "sheriff's volunteer posse" did the research. OMG. This is weak stuff even for Joe and his minions.

Agree with Obama or not the birther stuff is a distraction that ultimately is an endless argument of "no he's not" and "yes he is". It doesn't matter if Obama was born in America to the left for obvious reasons and it shouldn't matter to those in the right because behind him are thousands of other "BH Obama's" waiting to take his place.

So much energy is invested in destroying the man personally because IMO there is no real discernible difference between Neoconservatives and the track record of this presidency. Neo Cons can't attack Obama on tax cuts for the rich, the Bush doctrine, Guantanamo Bay, the War on Drugs, the War on terror, drone attacks, lack of transparency, bank bailouts, civil liberties et al because he has been very neo-con-ish on these issues over the last 3.5 years.

So fuck Sheriff Joe and Donald Trump. The burden is on them to tell us why the alternative choice is any better rather than wasting everyone's time with this disingenuous partisan nonsense.

Lets just call it what is. The Tea Party is the modern day equivalent of the party of George Wallace.
