My old kung fu Sifu likes to make movies. I can't say that they're exactly amazing (the two
on IMDB have 1 and 2.6 stars, each, sooooo, yeah). But he enjoys making them, and his students enjoy being ridiculous extras in them.
He's a pretty devout christian, and he wrote a screenplay about a bunch of dudes who wake up in hell and try to escape, turned it into a book (it's been compared to Left Behind (sorry Sifu, but
ugh) in the Amazon reviews, to give you an idea of the genre), and is making it into a move. I know it won't exactly be up our alley, but I wanted to share the trailer with my lowly apostate buds. The guy with the awesome ridiculous fake accent is my supervisor at work, and the guy in the snow is his brother, who I also work with.
It's pretty hilarious to me, but the effects are fun too. They built a green screen in the dojo, and my Sifu did most of the effects and editing himself. The way my super describes the movie is "buncha people get killed horribly", and that seems to be a popular theme in movies.
