When you click on a user's name, there is a statistic for "threads killed." What does that mean? What are the criteria for a "dead" thread? Just curious- the metafoyer is the place to ask, right?!? :)

Yes, this is a meta-foyer question. Killing a thread simply means you were the last person to post on a thread.

Obviously, if people are still posting on a thread after you, your percentage will go down once they post. So, really, there is no criterion for dead threads. All threads are viewed as potentially dead.

This often happens to me. I'll post something that I think is profound, and it clears the (virtual) room.
