I've recently been called as a Relief Society President, which has motivated me to overcome my fear of the internet. I know the church is encouraging its members to have more of an online presence, and I thought now that I'm a leader I should heed this call. So I started a blog, and I also wanted to find a forum to get involved in. As soon as I saw this one, I knew it was the place for me. How could it not be, with a name like "Further Light and Knowledge?" I confess, I haven't looked around at all yet, I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and say "Hi" to all my fellow members of the one true church! Aren't we so lucky to have the gospel in our lives? I look forward to "meeting" all of you! :D

Hey Molly, Mitt Romney called; he said he needs you to come back and write some more lame jokes for him.

Well, this is rather embarrassing. I can see why you both thought this was a joke. After spending more time looking around the forum I can see that I was a little hasty in making my choice. I was fooled by the name of the forum, but I see now what this really is. Of course I was disappointed at first, but then I realized that it didn't mean I had to leave. Maybe the Spirit actually led me here, for reasons that I can' know right now.

You're welcome to hang out as much as you want, MM. Keep in mind, though, that this isn't a Mormon forum. All of us, or most of us at least, have left the church for one reason or another. We don't allow proselytizing or apologetics at FLAK.

What JB said. We have a few believers around this site, but you need to read the rules of the forum and abide by them before you start participating. This isn't a debate board. If you want to talk to unbelievers from a believing point of view, there are places (like Mormon Discussions, for example, or Main Street Plaza) where you can do that. People on this forum are mostly here because they are done with the church and want to discuss the issues and process of leaving with others who are doing or have done the same. We're really not interested in your testimony or your spiritied defense of the faith.

I still say you're a poser, Molly, and probably a male one at that.

Bel, I'm so disappointed nobody has commented on my incredible wit and your killer spidey senses. What happened? Did everybody go and get a life? How boring.

Yeah, I read back through "Molly's" posts again and after having done linguistic pattern analysis on them in my head, I think I agree with you here.

And people with lives suck. And no one appreciates our awesomeness! :bluewave:

Welcome sister! We are sooo lucky to have the gospel in our lives. We are sooo grateful to have a living prophet that constantly gives us revelation from the Lord. Oh wait, President Monson has never given us any revelation, has he?. President Hinckley didn't either, did he?. President Hunter? Uuhhhh, President Benson? I'm gonna do some research on this. Can you join me in this task and keep me updated on how it's going? Thanks in advance, sister.
