Nah. After releasing myself on my own recognizance, I've been forced to live a less colorful life with lovely Edwina.

She still serves awful good cereal flakes.

MagicCicero, I just visted your blog. What is the focus of your history dissertation?

I'm writing on the "politics of moral reasoning" in the early American republic (circa 1780-1850), specifically, on the ways in which competing religious ideologies coalesced around political ideologies concerning the shape the new American nation should take; how American Christians sought to shape a republic that was friendly to their particular belief systems (not create a theocracy necessarily; but I'm exploring the different ways in which American Christians wanted to use the apparatus of the state to marry the sovereignty of the people to the sovereignty of God).

The blog, meanwhile, has grown quite dusty. I don't think I've posted there since March or April. Glad to see someone is still reading it, though I don't know whether any new posts will be forthcoming.

Maybe this discussion should be in a new thread or via PM. I'll ask here and then see if I get spanked. What is your take on the current belief that the 1st amendment garantees a seperation of church and state. i.e. that religion and government should be completely divorced?

Its great no matter what.

We were naughty and they didn't appreciate our humor.

Magic Cicero: It's nice to see another SAHD. I've been a SAHD since I started school back in Y2K. I was gonna do the whole PhD thing, had my applications, letters of recommendation and processing fee ready to mail out to UW Madison and U of Minn then pragmatism (read "wife" there) hit me upside the head and I decided Nursing made more sense then multiple degrees in Liberal Arts. Love my english lit degree though.

Apparently, LDA, they don't approve of threadjacking over there. Can you imagine? Around here we'd go into nervous collapse if we couldn't threadjack.
