It has been almost 2 years since I sent my exit letter and joined the Exmo community. I mailed it April 6 2005, the date was chosen for irony. I lost my belief in church many years ago was inactive until I learned what a Bishop had done to some of my closest friends. I had 2 years in hell or as some would call it an LDS mission, during this time I was subjected to brainwashing, metal and emotional abuse.
I should have left the cult after the mission from hell, but I tried to stay active in the church , I poured thru almost every book in the institute library to answer my questions about Mormonism and only found confusion and realization that every thing I had believed was wrong. After an internship in the COB there was no way I could attend church anymore. When I announced my disbelief to my family all i got from them was grief and shit. How could I betray our ancestors who suffered as martyrs in Missouri and suffered crossing the plains with BY. (even though our ancestors joined in 1870).
So here I am a singe never married exmo male (over 30) living in the heart of Utah. I travel frequently which helps me keep my sanity living here in Utah.

thanks to Swedeboy for recommending this board_

Nice to meet you, Demon.

I like the irony. I'll be writing my letter soon, so maybe I'll follow suit on picking a significant day.

And they haven't chased you out of there yet? You'd be a menace to society even if you were still mormon; as an exmo, well...

Welcome, DoK.

Nothing extraordinary happened on my mission but it still haunts me. And I mean haunt.

It's good to quit the mindgame.

Demon is a great guy. Heart of gold and passion to back it up. There are not many out there in exmo land who can compete with his missionary experiences. When he says two years in hell, he is not waxing poetic, it is the truth. Then his dad attemted to give him an "indian burn" around his neck in a fit of righteous indignation toward his "apostate" son.

All I can say, thank God for the exmo community. Without Demon and others like him, I would be bonkers here behind Zion's curtain.

Metal abuse? Did your MP put headphones on you as you were sleeping, and make you listen to Eddie Van Halen guitar jams, like "Darth Vader" did to McFly on Back to the Future? Or maybe Anthrax... err, Metallica?Hehehe. j/k, welcome and hope you like it here.

DO TELL about your intership in the COB! I'd love to hear some COB stories.
