Yeah, well now I'm just fucking demoralized. BYU wins consistently for 30 years and nothing comes of it. Utah wins for 10 years and...boom...PAC 10 invite. *sigh* Fuck it all.

EDIT: I'm not crying "persecution" or anything, just saying that its the universities fault for forcing itself to the fringe. It is the university's fault, not everyone else's.

Out of curiosity, I decided to examine BYU's record over the past 8 years (since that's what's available on ESPN).

I don't want to hear shit from you anymore about BYU Brail, they fucking suck. They have a LOSING RECORD against all teams with +.500 winning percentage in the year they played.

What does that prove? That they can only beat up on loser teams but not winners.

Whatever, I'm sick of it. The fact is that the 4 years prior to Mendenhall were the worst BYU has had in the last 40 years and are an abberration. I'm sick of arguing that BYU, TCU and the MWC deserve more respect than they get to people that will not listen. I'm sick of being a BYU fan today and I'm sick of the BCS that perpetuates a system where teams do not get a chance to prove themselves on the field, and fuck you and anyone else that thinks this is entertaining. There is and always will be a difference between playing a tough OOC schedule at the beginning of the year vs playing a cupcake OOC schedule to tune up before playing a tough conference schedule. The MWC's dominance of the PAC 10 last year means nothing to anyone except the few of us that still hope some form of fair arrangement can ever be had in NCAA D-I football. Of course those fans of the teams the benefit from the current BCS formula, will never admit there is anything wrong. I'm done. NCAA football is a fucking sham.

Yeah, my bad, whatever. Asshattery like that on display on this thread is why D-I football in the NCAA is so fucked up. There is no such thing as a level playing field, oh, I'm sorry it is level, but only if you are one of about 60 schools, the rest can just get off the fucking field and be fucking happy about it. And frankly, CVRick has greatly enjoyed pushing buttons, and I'm convinced its his sole reason to really give a flying fuck enough to continue commenting so much on something like which teams I like and which I hate. The intent of the thread was to comment on the conference expansion crap that was going down, somehow it turned into a kerfuckle about how much CVRick hates BYU to the point that he just can't let it drop. BYU sucks. They've proven it on the field. They put together a great game and beat OU last year in the opener, but that's not indicative of their normal performance. They'll never join a real conference because they won't be able to control it - and they'll be owned year in and year out.

Really, how does one go about discounting "the Crowton years" because the program sucked those years? That's like trying to throw Adam/God theory down the memory hole.

I agree though. A playoff system would be best.
