All -

This is the thread for new features.

I will be working on adding a YouTube code so that we can do YouTube videos.
I will also be posting guides on using new features in here.

If you have requests for functionality, please post it here.

Is there a feature in the new software that will fold my laundry and pay my bills?

Friends and Foes feature

Friends and Foes allows for categorization users here on FLAK. I suspect that the most common use for this will be to add a semi-block of users that you might find you don't wish to communicate with. Any friends that have been added to your friends list will give you the ability to more quickly communicate with them via the Friends and Foes subgroup in your User Control Panel. You will be able see whether or not they are online, for example. There is also a link directly to their userprofile. This makes it much easier, as you don't have to search for them.

To add a friend or a foe, go to the User Control Panel > Options > Friends and Foes. Then, type their username in the box. Click on Submit to add them. To remove them from the list, click their name on the list and then choose Submit again.

Adding a username to the foe list does not make it so that they are completely blocked. When viewing a post created by a foe, you will see their name, but nothing that they posted. When quoting, the post made by a foe will still be visible. However, to see their post, you will need to expand it.

They will also be able to send private messages still.

It's pretty simple to use and it gives you a little semblence of control over who you interact with on the forum.

I will also add some code to be able to resize images so that they're not monstruous.

Thanks! It was going to be my first request. :smoking:

I would like all the emoticons to be on one page again. It's the little things.

JB,

Can you please change the default or something to make links open in a new tab/window? I keep navigating away from the board and getting lost. Many thanks.

I have added code to allow for displaying Youtube videos.

The code is used as follows:
Code:
[youtube]video ID, which are the digits after http://www.youtube.com//watch?v=[/youtube.com]

So, for example, the following code:

Code:
[youtube]i1xSt7iganA[/youtube]

would embed the following video:

[youtube]i1xSt7iganA[/youtube]

Is it just me, or is everything a lot smaller? Could we get even a slightly bigger type? KTHXBAI.

Bel: You're on a Windows machine? Hold the CTRL key down and scroll the mouse wheel. The type should get bigger and smaller. Easier to read?

No, Rico, I'm on a MacBook. Cherry is on essentially the same engine (is that how you call it) as the old FLAK and it's noticeably bigger. I'm sure FLAK was bigger before. Maybe there's a way to get to display larger on a Mac?

Macbook instructions:

1 Open "System Preferences" by clicking on the dock icon.
2 Click on the "Keyboard & Mouse" control panel underneath the "Hardware" category.
3 Go to the "Trackpad" tab at the top of the control panel window.
4 Check the box next to "Zoom while holding" to enable trackpad zooming. Then choose one of the three keyboard buttons from the drop-down menu. The options are the control key, the option key or the command key.
5 Hold down the key you chose in Step 4, place two fingers at the bottom of the MacBook Pro's trackpad and then move your fingers up the trackpad to zoom into your display. Moving two fingers down the trackpad will zoom the display out to its original resolution.

command & + will make it bigger on a mac
command & - will make smaller.
