I had an interview today with an upscale department store in our area. The lady interviewing me said I was by far her "best" interview and told me she would personally recommend me for any advancements in the company. I knew today was going to be a good day--the weather was sunny and warm; I woke up feeling that my interview would go well and that I'd be hired.

Yay for me!!!

Thanks Oswit. I spent today training, a tiring but good day for me with a lot of information to digest. I go back in Saturday to do computer training and then I'll be ready for the sales floor.

I did find out I'll be making more per hour than I had been offered in the interview plus commission on sales and other items unique to the store I work for. Since I enjoy sales a lot, esp. if I believe in what I'm selling, I will be doing my best to exceed the stats that are required (which are pretty low, frankly, probably to help us reach sales goals easily). What really surprised me in all of this was how quickly things moved from my application submission to being hired. I think I will enjoy this job very much and the chances for advancement are very good if you show up and are friendly--both easy for me!

Thanks ladies!

Just to let anyone looking for work know, they are still hiring. It's a great company to work for (I heard that from people who worked there before), they pay well and if you like working with other people it's pretty easy to get hired on. If anyone is interested in applying for a job let me know via pm and I'll send you a link to their website.

Thanks Tol. I appreciate your commiserating with me through e-mail too. It really helped to have a listening ear! (((Tol)))

I once had a former husband (a "wasband" as a friend calls them) say to me in disgust, "you always land on your feet no matter what life throws at you." Yeah, I do.

Done NiB. I forgot to put my hours I'll be there tomorrow, der, lol. I start at 11 and go until 8 p.m. My training was postponed because of our big Mother's Day celebrations and the crowds expected tomorrow as part of that. Hope to see you there!

Susan, I'm glad to hear that it went well for you. Good luck, I'm sure you'll rock it!

Thanks JB and CVRick.

I took off work today to buy some American-made shoes (yes, we still have them here and they are worth the extra $$ to buy, esp. if you work on your feet all day) and ended up getting SAS black leather ones that are so much better than the Hush Puppies I bought from where I work and will be taking back (both pair). I was dismayed to find out my formerly fav brand is now made in China; they are poorly made and have hardly any support, certainly not enough for as much walking as I do now.

But yeah, if you work on your feet buy Echo, Munro (sp?) or SAS brands. Your beautiful bod will thank you!

Well funny thing you should ask, sweet Dawg, but all of a sudden "H" (no D anymore) decided to go back on his agreement to help as long as he had promised just before I landed this job. I figure all Karma is good Karma, though, and if he's comfortable incurring such Karma so be it. I'll be fine without his help. Ha, just after he made that decision his back went out, he missed a bunch of work and got docked on his pay. I had to laugh, mean as that was.

Maybe Froggie has an extra $5.00? ;)
