I lost my precious dog today. I feel like I've been kicked in the teeth.

I'm so sorry, LOC. :(

One of our dogs is 13 and I know that day is coming soon. I don't even want to think about it.

Thanks High...yeah, it's still very raw for us. People around us have been so kind, though, which helps immensely. Our girl was 16 and a half and I think, in the back of my mind, I was convinced she was going to keep on going forever and outlive us! She had such a good life and only up until a week ago she was going out on dog walks every day.
It's the first time I'd truly been smitten by canine love. I doubt I'll ever recover from the loss completely. She was a one-of-a-kind dog.

((LoC))

So sorry about your dog. Animals can be real friends, and it's really hard when you lose them. :(

Thanks Leuk...she was a real friend. She had a great life and met A LOT of people who really connected with her. We went and Royal Wootton Bassett'ed her yesterday and opened a bottle of champagne in her honour.
