As Thomas Jefferson once said, Michelle Bachman has done more for women than the invention of the washing machine.

Yes! I'm trying, I'm trying! (Many of the board folks will agree I am very trying).

Oldfart, I'm honored that you would want me to start a kerfuckle. I don't think a kerfuckle is possible at this point because to have a successful kerfuckle, you first have to have people who give a shit. The people posting here (as evidenced by them NOT posting here) don't seem to meet that criteria.

Here goes attempt #1:

I haven't been a Mormon for a long time. However, when I look back I think there is some wisdom in the fact that men of the church run everything. Women, as you know, are often emotional and unreasonable. The success of any organization depends on a steady hand at the helm and I'm afraid women would blow up the world on their first menstrual cycle while in power. Everyone knows this about women! Even the fucking democrats rejected a viable female presidential candidate 4 years ago in favor of the assbag we now call "President". Sarah Palin of course is the only exception to this rule because she believes in Jesus. Jesus is a man and therefore leads christian women. So in reality, Palin would still be in charge but being led by the ultimate man.

Sheesh. You're not trying either. I am insulted by these feeble attempts to bait me.

Now I am bored. I shall have a smoke. :smoking:

I thought Palin was a man.

You have touched upon a common misconception among progressives because she simply doesn't fit their narrative.
Usually a woman in power on the left meets at least 4/5 of the following criteria:

1. Lesbian or at least tried it that one time her Jr. Year at UC Berkeley while working towards her PhD in "Woman's Studies".
2. More than 1 abortion by choice because she can and "ain't no embryo gonna hold her down from having it all".
3. Unitarian church member, Scientology, Hindu, Wicca (anything but plain white bread christian)
4. Single mother because she "don't need no man"
5. Non-Caucasian

The fact that Palin doesn't fit the mold causes great cognitive dissonance among liberals and they often knee jerk into thinking that she must be a white man. I hope this explanation was helpful.
