The Great and Not-So-Spacious Mall must not be doing as well as expected.

The seers and revelators missed foreseeing the big real-estate bust.

The lease on the office-space for my engineering firm, however, hit it perfectly. It ended right when space got cheap. We got into better digs with one year rent free!

There's a housing development across the street. They've been having "Special Move-in Sales!" everyday now for the past 6 months...

I posted this on a similar story on NOM as well, sorry for an exact repeat, but didn't feel like typing the whole thing again on my phone.

I don't think that is too uncommon. When my husband was looking for a new spot for our store, one new strip mall was offering free rent for the cost of the build-out. When we worked up the cost of the build-out, which was around $75,000 since there weren't even interior walls or plumbing, they were going to accept it. That would have equated to about a five year lease.

Interestingly, the center is still completely empty 3 years later.

Every-time I think about CCC, I start getting angry. Is that the case with others? Or is it just me?

The poor you have with you always, but Apple? Shizzle, we need that shit.

I ordered a t-shirt to wear to the mass resignation. It says:

What would Jesus build?
(a) a mall
(b) condos
(c) both (a) and (b)
(d) none of the above.

(Note: The mall didn't cause me to lose my testimony. I "lost" my testimony long ago. The mall just pissed me off.)

Quoted for truth! I was long gone by the time they announced the mall, but it still pisses me off. My 80 year of parents who have very limited means are still giving 10% to that greedy, top heavy, MLM.
